From the recording Road Trip Rocker
Originally created the melody a few years back yet didn't know what to do with it. It nagged at me for awhile and played in my head on repeat, overall sound more closer to the new Sonic Thump version. The rock version was the first recording to get the idea to work correctly.
I added lyrics about the journey I've had the last 6 years with my family and son. How much life has been better, more improved since his arrival. When he was about 6 months the family took a small road trip. We had to make an emergency stop in the middle of nowhere. At one point I had to get out of the car and hold my son while my wife was making adjustments. It was cold wind and snowing in the hills. I looked out into the obscure rural mountain range and could almost see into deep space. I whispered to my boy "here we are together in this vast cosmos".

In My Travels written by Jesse Crawford performed by Marc Antarez ©®™Sodacon Music 2020
Verse 1:
Drifting alone and so unknown
Filling days with the family memories
Bridge:
My life before you arrived impossible
Not Really Happening
Who knew that a little boy
could change so much
Chorus:
Maybe in my travels we'd been there
I couldn't know
and each mile the of the road we take
is forging the bond
Maybe in my dreams all these memories
Were back before you were born
Maybe in my time of crisis
Saved me from what I could not endure
Verse 2:
They say being a dad can be difficult yet you make it easier
We knew there were always other places
We can be where we want to be
Bridge:
My time before you arrived
Not really happening
Who knew that this lady and little boy
Had changed my life for good
Chorus:
Maybe in my travels we'd been there
I couldn't know
and each mile the of the road we take
is forging the bond
Maybe in my dreams all these memories
Were back before you were born
Maybe in my time of crisis
Saved me from what I could not endure
